By convention, filament is usually sold by Kilo (weight) or partial Kilo quantities. As always, store in low humidity environments and keep sealed until needed. Images may differ from product type. Check pages for availability.
PLA is an environmentally friendly, biodegradable material which offers fairly high strength. It is strong and tough, suitable for printing complicated parts with low shrinkage, stable dimensions and performance. Probably the most popular feed stock since it works in most printers and comes in such a variety of colors.
ABS is a production-grade plastic that offers a low-cost option for rapid prototyping, high strength usable parts, and designs.
Taulman 3D Nylon 6 Nylon based co-polymer. Specifically designed for 3D printing applications where excellent surface bonding, reduced water absorption, tear resistance, and dye absorption are combined in an easy-to-print 1.75mm or 3mm product. High strength, durability, pliability and beauty.
HIPS is similar to ABS in its properties, but soluble. Citrus based solvents such as Limonene do not affect materials such as ABS, so HIPS is often used as a support material. High volume users will remove HIPS supports with Limonene (or similar) solution in an ultrasonic tank, but the ultrasonic method is not needed as long as you can budget more time. HIPS is easier to print than ABS, and is a bit more flexible. It prints at similar settings to ABS, and bonds well to it.
PC is a high temp plastic that can withstand temperatures well in excess of ABS or PLA. PC prints with a precision and strength not found in other plastics, and works well for parts that need to be field tested. Many, if not most, extruders will not reach the elevated temps needed to print PC, which requires 280-310ºC and a bed temp of at least 110ºC.
